Some situations require immediate action. A person is in imminent suicide risk if she or he
- tells you they plan to end their life
- cannot guarantee their own safety
- is at risk and under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- tells you they have recently taken an overdose or made some other suicide gesture

Outside normal business hours, counseling staff can be reached by calling (573) 231-8036 or (573) 231-8037.
The Student Development Office is able to provide brief crisis counseling as well as referrals to outside providers. Call (573) 629-3008. Outside normal business hours, faculty and staff should call 911.

Take the person directly to the emergency room at the Hannibal Regional Hospital at 6000 Hospital Drive.
